Located in High Point, North Carolina, this 500,000 square foot convention center serves the city’s Biannual Furniture Market as well as other convention venues. Hyndman & Hyndman was awarded this contract through a design competition held by the owners, open to firms on a national level. Hyndman & Hyndman was one of four contestants, the others being Skidmore Owings Merrill, Gensler, and HOK.

The owners required maximum efficiency in the floor plan and “World-Class Architecture” embodied in the exterior imagery. The interior of the building houses over 320,000 square feet of exhibit space, linked by a full-height atrium. This building was constructed on a fast track schedule and completed for under $80 per square foot. The dynamic, curved forms and transparent façade make this building a landmark within the urban context of downtown High Point.
