St. Benedict

This 17-acre site, located in Hollister, California, was designed to accommodate a new 750-seat a 14,000 square foot Catholic Church, a large Social Hall, a Catechetical Center, an Administration Building, and a small Chapel. The site is surrounded by views to distant mountain peaks, with rolling grassy hills and natural water features complimentary to the campus environment.

The initial phase included the Church and Site work. The Blessed Sacrament Chapel was designed as a Tower element to anchor the composition along the linear axis of the entry road to the site. The architectural style is in keeping with the spirit of the Missions and complements the surrounding residential neighborhood scale.

Hyndman & Hyndman designed the liturgical furnishings and art, serving as the liturgical designer for this project as well as the architect.
