St. Michael's Abbey
Silverado, CAThe St. Michael’s Abbey complex located in Silverado, CA, will be the home for the Norbertine order of Catholic priests (“Fathers”) and nuns who have served Orange County for the last 50 years. The Project will provide a residence for the priests, nuns and those in formation who are dedicated to the educational and spiritual needs of the Abbey community, including the St. Michael’s Abbey Preparatory School. Additionally, the Project will:
- Enable the Fathers and those associated with the Norbertine community to worship.
- Offer a final resting place for the Norbertine community and it’s affiliates with the inclusion of a cemetery and crypt.
- Allow the Fathers to maintain their facilities and equipment through the inclusion of a maintenance area.
- Administer to the business of the Abbey and School in the Administration building.
The Saint Michael’s project is planned to be constructed in 2 stages the first of which includes the church, convent, guest wing, offices, monastery, cemetery, and burial chapel. Stage Two will include the construction of the Abbey School and student housing as well as the associated Gymnasium and play field areas.
